RE: Yosemite: best place for TT camping

IMO the only place to stay is in the Valley. I hate parking outside and having to do the drive in every day. No hookups in the Valley. Best to go off season, avoid summer, as others have said it gets very crowded in the Valley. Yosemite is a large park but 95% of the people that go there spend all their time in the 5 square miles of the Valley. In the summer we've gone to Tuolumne Meadows, not nearly as many people up there! Reservations are very difficult to get. Get on that phone as soon as they will take reservations for your date......and if it's summer, pray you'll get lucky!
We just made reservations for Housekeeping Camp for a group of 50 for June 2010....need to think way ahead for Yosemite! No RVs in this campground, reservations are handled by the rooms people not the park service, but it's one of our favorite places to stay,it has elec. and is great for groups!
